- Prof. Mayuri Wijesinghe is collaborating with a project related to the impacts of linear infrastructure on wildlife in Sri Lanka (Dishane Hewavithana, PhD candidate: University of Miami).
- Prof. Mayuri Wijesinghe together with Dr. Saminda Fernando is looking at the effects of heavy metals on bird vocalization. (Thilini Ranasinghe, Department of Zoology & Environment Sciences, University of Colombo: Graduate student)
- Prof. Mayuri Wijesinghe is also working on several aspects of heavy metal dynamics in wetlands in collaboration with Prof. Ramani Wijesikera and Dr. Sashipraba Vithanarachchi
- Prof. Mayuri Wijesinghe also investigates dynamics of changing natural landscapes. In collaboration with Dr. Hiran Jayaweera (Department of Physics, University of Colombo) she is also looking at the microclimate buffering capacity of natural habitats. (Ayesha Seneviratne, Undergraduate Student)
- Amaya Sathurusinghe is working with Prof. Sudheera Ranwala and Dr. Manjula Ranagalage (University of Rajarata) in studying the impact of forest cover changes on land surface and air temperature in the dry zone, Sri Lanka.
